EVP = ghostly soundz
It has come to my attention that a new really scary movie is about to come out. It is called White Noise (http://www.whitenoisemovie.com/). Its premesis is that white noise is not just any noise, it is a noise that conceals the voices of the dead.
It turns out this movie is actually based on a real phenomenon. It is called EVP, and there's an entire organization devoted to studying it. It is called AAEVP (http://www.aaevp.com/)
The ghostly sounds are masked by white noise, but can be extracted using special techniques. The official EVP website offers many examples of families being able to record the dead saying things like “I'm here”, etc. You can find real examples here: http://www.aaevp.com/examples.html
Coincidentally, over the past few days, I have tried to collect a few samples of white noise. I have used my iRiver to record pretty uniform sound that occurs at all wavelengths. It sounds like just plain white noise at first... but listen carefully, you might be able to hear something....
